Internationally renowned keynote speaker secured for 2010 conference

The iappANZ Board is delighted to announce we have secured an internationally renowned keynote speaker for our third annual conference. Our special guest is Dr Larry Ponemon, a man whose name is synonymous globally with privacy thought leadership. He is a critically acclaimed author, lecturer, spokesman and pioneer in the development of privacy auditing, privacy risk management and the ethical information management process.

Dr Ponemon is the Chairman and Founder of the Ponemon Institute, a research “think tank” dedicated to advancing privacy and data protection practices. He is recognised as a pioneer in privacy auditing and the Responsible Information Management or RIM framework.  The Ponemon Institute (www.ponemon.org) conducts independent research, educates leaders from the private and public sectors, and verifies the privacy and data protection practices of organisations in various industries.

Dr Ponemon is also an adjunct professor for ethics and privacy at Carnegie Mellon University’s CIO Institute. He is a Fellow of the Centre for Government Innovation of the Unisys Corporation. Read Dr Ponemon’s full biography at www.ponemon.org/management
